The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has appointed Mike Ward as its new Business Manager. The new role has been created to ensure the Association can further develop, building on recent successes including rising interest in membership and in the ASFP’s training programme.
Mike brings with him a range of comprehensive business and marketing skills and experience from a broad range of different industries. He joins the ASFP from fire and smoke curtain manufacturer Coopers Fire, where he has been Director of Sales (UK & Export) for over 11 years. His experience includes developing and improving sales and marketing for a range of past employers, where he has been successful in developing new routes to market and more efficient methods of delivering value.
As ASFP Business Manager, Mike’s role will be to further advance the Association, ensuring it continues to operate efficiently, supporting its members’ needs and building yet stronger links across the wider construction supply chain.
Mike will assist in developing the ASFP’s strategic direction. Managing the Association’s commercial operations, he will seek to identify new markets and revenue streams, develop pricing strategies for ASFP products and services and review operational procedures.
Speaking of the new appointment ASFP CEO Niall Rowan declared:
“The ASFP is delighted to welcome Mike on board in the newly created position of Business Manager. Mike is known to many in the fire world through his work with Coopers Fire.
He really impressed the interview panel with his technical knowledge, business expertise and his thoughts on the strategic direction for the ASFP. He is a great addition to the team, and I believe this appointment is another great step forward for the Association.”
On joining the Association, Mike stated:
“I am delighted to be joining the ASFP team at this pivotal time in the Association’s development. The ASFP has experienced significant growth in recent years and I am excited at the prospect of helping it to further develop, by building on the success of the recently launched training programme, supporting existing members, while identifying potential new markets.”
Mike joins the growing ASFP team which comprises: Niall Rowan, CEO; Andrew Taylor, Technical Officer; Anna Hayes, Marketing Officer; Tony Corcoran, Membership Officer; David O’Reilly, Ireland Operations Officer; Phil Brownhill, Head of Training; and strong administrative support from Association Group Management.
