Neo re-employment initiative

With the aim of promoting career opportunities for all, Neo recently welcomed a group of promising recruits from nationwide employment scheme, The Growth Company. The initiative, which was developed to help the unemployed get back into work, was the first of many that Neo are planning to roll out due to the business undergoing a period of rapid growth.

The candidates, all from the Manchester area, underwent a four-week intensive training programme in Passive Fire Protection, initially taking place at Neo’s on-site Training and Development Centre and later on-site.

While the Neo head office is in Leeds, building works are carried out nationwide, identifying a need for local economic investment in areas such as the northwest. Business Services Manager, Barry Whitehead, who managed the initial week at the in-house training Centre, followed by three weeks of site-based training, observation, and assessment, said:

“The re-employment initiative is a fantastic step for Neo. To be able to provide new members of our workforce with the skills to start a career in fire protection and get them back into work is, personally, very rewarding. It’s a great opportunity for the recruits too, who will work alongside our regular passive fire protection teams and then towards a FIRAS accreditation.”

Neo will continue to nurture, support and progress local talent after the success of this initial scheme and will continue to work with The Growth Company to promote future employment opportunities in the Northwest, the Midlands and Yorkshire.
