New smoke leakage test rig for Warringtonfire

Warringtonfire’s one site testing solution, which enables door manufacturers to complete acoustic, smoke leakage and fire resistance testing using just a single sample at one location, has proven so popular that a third smoke leakage test rig has been added at its High Wycombe laboratory.

As with its existing rigs, the new rig can also undertake cyclic testing to support TS 21 Certification. The addition of this third rig saves clients both time and cost, as tests on multiple products can be run concurrently and can be completed in a shorter space of time.

The addition of the new rig is part of a wider programme of investment that Warringtonfire is making at its High Wycombe facility. Work will shortly commence in modernising and upgrading the acoustic testing laboratory, including the addition of a new rotating acoustic boom, which will reduce testing times for customers. New floors will be installed into both the source and receiving room and the customer meeting room.

Rob Veitch, Executive Vice President for Fire & Building Products commented:

“Our ability to offer customers testing for multiple performance characteristics using just a single sample and all at a single location is proving immensely popular. Demand for this type of testing is at an all-time high and this has driven the need to increase capacity. At the same time we took the opportunity to invest in additional acoustic testing equipment and upgrade the facility, providing our customers with additional benefits.”
