ROCKWOOL has added two new products to its range; the FIREPRO DuctRock Slab; and the SP FIRESTOP OSCB 60 & 120.
Tested to BS EN 1366 Part 1 & BS EN 1366 Part 8 FIREPRO DuctRock Slab provides fire resistance of up to 2 hours on both ventilation and smoke extract ducts. It is fully tested in both horizontal and vertical applications on rectangular/square ductwork in addition to dry wall and solid floor penetration details.
DuctRock Slab is supplied in three thicknesses and is classified for fire resistance ranging from EI 30 to EI 120 in accordance with BS EN 13501-3 and BS EN 13501-4. Supplied with a new high emissivity black foil, it can easily be identified and provides a smart, aesthetic finish to the ductwork.
Designed for use with ROCKWOOL RAINSCREEN DUO SLAB, SP Firestop OSCB forms an open-state cavity fire barrier within a rainscreen cavity. The product is available in two variants giving up to 60 and 120 minutes of fire performance respectively.
Each comprises of a continuous intumescent strip fixed to the leading edge of a foil faced stone wool barrier, encapsulated by a weather-resistant polythene sleeve – white for OSCB 60 and red for OSCB 120. It is suitable for overall cavity widths up to 425mm with a residual cavity of up to 44mm.
Fully tested to ASFP TGD 19, the combination of non-combustible insulation with an effective intumescent supports the construction of safe façade systems and aids the design of high-rise buildings over 18m in height.
