Yee Group of Burton on Trent was chosen to provide passive fire protection services for a national cinema chain at two of its busiest locations in Wales.
Since the popular entertainment venues are open to the public seven days a week, Yee Group had to find a way to install the fire protection while keeping the venue open. In addition, the works needed to be of high specification due to the complexity of the passive fire protection needs.
Yee Group installed ablative batts with the pattress fit option and a variety of different-sized intumescent pipe wraps and collars around a variety of concealed services to ensure each could be correctly certified. Each cinema required its own bespoke fire stopping installation methods with many of them located in hard to reach places. The works needed to be completed quickly and without noise or other disruption to staff and customers.
Yee Group’s dedicated logistics team worked closely with the client’s site management team to deliver the materials and equipment needed to complete the works in a single day.
Working from before dawn until late evening, Yee Group’s specialist team finished both projects as planned, and with full fire safety compliance at both locations. FIRAS-accredited and active members of the ASFP, the team at Yee Group were applauded by the client for the successful delivery of the project to an extremely tight schedule.
