ASFP joins the CITB Employer Networks to Enhance Training and Funding Access for Members

19 September 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has joined the CITB Employer Networks initiative! This significant step reflects our commitment to supporting the construction industry and our members by providing better access to essential training and funding.

As ASFP’s Technical Training Officer, I, Adam Shipstone, am excited about the positive changes we can bring to the industry through this collaboration. Over the next 12 months, we look forward to sharing many new developments that will benefit our members.

The CITB Employer Networks initiative, funded and facilitated by CITB, focuses on two key objectives:

1. Easier Access to Training and Funding

The Employer Networks simplify the process of accessing training, covering a wide range of areas crucial to construction employers. This includes not only current trade skills but also future-focused needs such as net-zero initiatives, digital skills, and mentoring.

Moreover, the Employer Networks handle the organization of funding applications, eliminating any paperwork hassles for employers. This allows members to access financial support for training quickly and efficiently.

2. Collaborative Input on Training Needs

Through local engagement, employers can share their specific training needs directly with CITB. This collaborative approach ensures that funding is allocated effectively and training provisions address both immediate and future skill requirements in each region.

It’s important to note that if you claim funding through the Employer Network, you won’t be able to claim the same costs through the levy. We recommend consulting with your CITB Engagement Advisor to find the best solution for your business.

Why This Matters to ASFP Members

By joining this network, ASFP members now have a stronger voice in shaping the construction industry’s training landscape, ensuring it meets their evolving needs. To learn more or check your business's eligibility, visit CITB's website.
