ASFP Regatta Challenge 2025: As it happened

26 June 2025

On Wednesday, 18 June 2025, the ASFP Annual Regatta once again brought together professionals from across the passive fire protection and construction sectors for a thrilling day of sailing and competition. With perfect weather and ideal sailing conditions, this year’s regatta proved to be one of the most memorable to date.

The event proved to be a success for both seasoned sailors and amateurs alike, providing participants with the opportunity to learn the ropes of sailing while engaging in a fun, fast-paced regatta. Coral Morgan from Saint-Gobain captured the spirit of the day perfectly:

"The ASFP Regatta 2025 was a fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable experience! A unique opportunity to learn the ropes of sailing while taking part in a fun, fast-paced, and competitive regatta. The event was a brilliant way to build teamwork and strengthen relationships with both customers and colleagues. Set against a stunning backdrop with perfect weather and ideal sailing conditions, a standout experience from normal industry events. To end the day, a relaxed BBQ and prize-giving, making it not just a competition, but a great chance to connect and unwind with other industry professionals in a fun, relaxed environment. I would definitely recommend taking part."

Following the races, participants gathered for a well-deserved BBQ and prize-giving ceremony, celebrating the day’s achievements and fostering new connections in a relaxed setting.

Congratulations to CLM Fireproofing and skipper Tim Thubron, who secured a dominant victory with three first-place finishes across the races.

Maddison Sands of CLM Fireproofing spoke of how the Regatta creates a more inclusive team building event than most, stating:

“As a woman in the industry, I really appreciated having an outdoors sport-related corporate event beyond the traditional golf day - this felt inclusive, welcoming, and empowering, especially with the opportunity to receive training and participate fully. It made a big difference and is such a unique experience. Every single participant was absolutely gleaming afterwards, and we can’t wait to join again.”

Nadine Saxon also spoke of the spirit of collaboration that the Regatta fosters.

"The ASFP Regatta continues to grow as a standout event in our yearly calendar, and this year was a triumph to say the least. We’re proud to bring together new faces and old friends to share, collaborate and celebrate the achievements of our sector. We look forward to seeing even more teams on the water next year – don’t miss out on the chance to win Mike’s coveted red wellies!”
