Book your IFE examThe formal examination for both the Level 2 & 3 Foundation Certificates in Passive Fire Protection is run by the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE). You can read more about the exam & the accompanying qualification, and/or book your place at the exam by clicking the button below. (Note this takes you outside of the ASFP website). Candidates should remember that the qualifications are the equivalent to a GCSE (Level 2 certificate) and an A Level (Level 3 certificate) this means that as well as the training course, candidates will need to allow time to study the syllabus, additional reading and previous examination papers. Those who succeed, start early, organise themselves well and allow sufficient time to properly prepare. We recommend booking a course well in advance of your exam.

CITB Grant FundingCITB-registered employers are able to claim grant funding of £600 for achievement of the IFE Certificate in Passive Fire Protection qualifications at levels 2 and 3. For more information and support on eligibility and grant applications, please visit the CITB website below.

The platform is easy to use and I like the way you have constantly raised questions to reinforce the learning. This will be useful when I am using the platform for my revision before the exams. alongside the course notes you have prepared. This is the best e-learning I have experienced, well done Phil.
Shaft Safety SystemsI found this to be an excellent online course, with a combination of detailed instructional videos, interactive tests and case studies from the real world. I gained a better understanding of passive fire stopping principles and learned how to effectively implement them on site while also preparing for the IFE exam.

Euroform Products Ltd (SIG plc)I found the course to be delivered to an exceptionally high standard by an individual who is clearly an expert in his field. In my view, there was an excellent balance of theory underpinned by diagrams, drawings and video collateral to clearly demonstrate the importance and application of the learnings. Another important point from a student’s point of view is the encouragement for interactive engagement from the class which was heavily encouraged.
